Gasoline-Fueled: An Interview with Instagrammer & Editorial Director Ted Gushue

Gasoline-Fueled: An Interview with Instagrammer & Editorial Director Ted Gushue

A few months ago, we spotlighted an amazing Instagram artist driving the car art & car prints community. Przemek’s work is a breathtaking example of how gasoline culture and artistic design go perfectly together.

But you’re going to be thrilled to hear that at Rear View Prints we’re just getting started. For your celebration of all things gas-driven and speed-related, you need look no further than our blog. In fact, in the coming months we have a lineup of interviews in the works with auto photographers, racing stars, car designers, and so many more. Right now is an exciting time to be living the petrol lifestyle, and we’re going to make sure you have what you need for it.

On that note, we’ve teamed up with Instagram photographer and Petrolicious Editorial Director Ted Gushue this month for an exceptional interview. Ted is one of the key figures behind Petrolicious’ award-winning content, and his Instagram is an incredible blend of all things car-inspired. You can find yourself scrolling for hours at both, as you dive deeper into the car and design culture we all love.

But without further ado, here’s what he had to say when our founder Patrick Redmond sat down with him for an interview:

Your Instagram is an awesome mix of stunning cars. How do you choose your subjects and shots?

I try and keep an active record of where I’ve been, what I’ve seen and what I’ve done/driven. I spent a few years in New York Nightlife so my memory is shot, but if I photograph it and share it, it’s really locked in. Just keep shooting. I sucked 15 months ago. I’ve shot 50,000 images since then. I’m much better now.

As Editorial Director of Petrolicious, you’ve brought us some great articles on gasoline culture. What’s next for the site and your readers?

More, more, more! We’re hiring a great team to keep quality and consistency high in our expanding editorial plan. Lots more to come, keep watching and reading!

What’s your favorite aspect about car culture and the gasoline lifestyle?

It breaks down all barriers. Geographic, socioeconomic, you name it. “Car guy” is a universal language spoken by kings, celebrities, and commoners alike. We’re all here for the same reason.

Why cars, for you? What’s your personal connection?

Always raised in a car family, never a moment when we didn’t have something interesting in our small garage. Highlight was a DB6 in red. Still have a painting of it in my childhood bedroom.

Thanks Ted for talking with us. If there’s one thing we love here at Rear View, it’s a shout out about beautiful car prints, especially those that have inspired you most. I want to thank you very much, Ted. We know that our team here at Rear View Prints and our audience are looking forward to plenty more coming from your Instagram and Petrolicious.

You can check out more of Ted’s inspirational work on his Instagramwebsite and at Petrolicious.
