So, you’ve finally received those beautiful car art prints you’ve ordered from RVP, and you’re desperate to get them ready to go on your wall at home. But wait a sec, they’re all rolled up? How am I suppose to put this on my wall? I hear you cry. What if I bend or damage my gorgeous hand-drawn Porsche? You wail. Well, first of all – calm down please, you’re making us nervous. Secondly, luckily for you, we’ve made a quick guide full of tips and tricks to unroll those beautiful automotive art posters and get them proudly displayed as soon as possible! Check it out below:
Pull off one of the caps on the tube
It doesn’t matter which, but keep one side secure.
Tip the tube to one side
This will ensure the poster slides out naturally, with minimal fuss. Resist the urge to pinch or grab, have some decorum! If you mess around too much you’ll end up with jagged edges, potential tears, and all kinds of mess.
Peel the sealing sticker off the poster carefully
Imagine you’re a bomb disposal expert, but instead of thousands of people’s lives at stake, it’s just the condition of your amazing car art poster from Rear View Prints. Yes, we think that’s a fair analogy. Use a sharp knife if you must, but take great care not to cut the poster itself.
Lay the print face down
Careful, it might explode! Oh, sorry – we were caught up in the moment there. Use the tube cylinder thingy that we packed your print into and slowly roll it up while wrapping the tube around it.
Use the sticker provided to secure the print
If you don’t have the sticker, you can use some other gentle bits of tape that will peel off easily. From here, it just needs to remain secure for around an hour.
If you don’t want to use the sticker method, use a book.
That’s right. Break out the encyclopedia on one end and an old school textbook on the other. The choice of book you use is optional, but it helps if they’re big and chunky. Place each book on either side of the poster carefully and leave it there for 24 hours.
Wait 24 hours.
Look, it’s less risky than the sticker method but it will take longer. We recommend Grand Prix re-runs during this time or maybe a full Le Mans viewing session. But look, you’re an adult. We can’t tell you what to do.
If you’ve followed all these steps carefully, congratulations, your bomb has been defused and you’ve saved thousands of lives. Oh sorry, we mean your poster is now flat and ready to be hung in your home. Either outcome is a cause for celebration we think.
